Notes from Logan
by Logan Enright, CTS

Joyous Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! As we finish our year here at Enright Company, we wish to thank all those manufacturers, consultants and integrators who have contributed to our continued success and growth. We wish everyone a happy, safe and peaceful holiday season!

Thanks to all who attended our fall road shows. We traveled to seven cities and had almost 400 people from 150 companies visit us. It is so gratifying to have all you high achieving, extraordinarily busy folks come by and give us your time! Much appreciated!

Kirk Lane of Forbes AV greets visitors at Las Vegas leg of
Enright Sojourn Road Show.

In this edition of Scanlines, we will be introducing a number of new products that are both synergetic to each other and to our complete line up of manufacturers.

PDR Mounts, www.pdrmounts.com, is our new mounting accessory manufacturer. After many years with the top companies in mounting products, Enright Company is very keen on this new opportunity. See all the reasons below.

Digital signage (DS), as a market, continues to grow and become a reality in the commercial AV and IT field. It took several years for that industry to define itself. We used to say it was a four-mile wide and one-inch deep industry – today it has grown legs. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to launch Nexus Digital Signs, www.nexusdigitalsigns.com, a leading provider of enterprise level software for DS. CyberTouch, www.cybertouch.com, is about the oldest and most established providers of touch-screen LCD monitors. Based in Newbury Park, CA, founder Abraham Gohari and his firm have been in the resistive type touch screen for decades.

Finally, Schneider Optics, www.schneideroptics.com, has joined our fold. Schneider is one of the top quality manufacturers of projector lens adapters – aspheric, wide angle and telephoto.

As always, thanks for checking out Scanlines!

Why PDR Mounts?

by Dave Fahrbach, CTS

PDR is a special company. Founded by Mike David in 1972, parent company David Engineering and PDR Mounts has a close-knit family feel to it with big company capability. PDR is located just 30 minutes east of LA/Orange County in Corona. Mike started the business as a metal fabrication business serving various manufacturers. Today, PRD Mounts is managed by Mike and his son, Michael David along with Charlie Hawkins and Richard Meese. Many know and respect Richard from his years with a leading AV distributor concentrating on mounts. Their management team is an attentive and focused group making and selling some of the best mounting accessories in the industry today.

The Enright Company has been with the top mount companies in the industry spanning 20 years and is proud to announce this new relationship with PDR.

So why PDR? First, all products are designed, built and stocked right here in California, USA. PDR has lower prices than the big boys offer. All products are test to 4X the weight capacity specified – exceeding UL standards! PDR offers the closest-to-the-wall flat panel mount in the industry. They have a fine-looking universal projector mount that includes all the ceiling and wall mount accessories for less money than you are currently paying. Their security box is small and offers a lock, which secures the projector from theft. A series of in-wall boxes allowing the plasma or LCD to mount flush to the wall. PDR in-wall-boxes are better made and do not require shimming, for an easier installation, and include two Carlton boxes (electrical boxes) per unit. PDR will soon have the IWB-250, a three stud InWall Flush Mount solution that will handle virtually all displays over 50” with an Industry-Leading 250-lb rated capacity.
PDR has a simple and solid web site with full mechanical drawings on all products for ease of specifying. Additionally, PDR will take on any and all special custom work – just ask! We have been fully trained as a rep firm and have samples to show you from PRD.

Expect to hear more from us on PDR!

Schneider Cine-Digitar Anamorphic Lens
Allows Projectors to Display
Professional Quality, Full-Screen Cinemascope®

Enables 16:9 projectors to create an ultra-sharp 2.35:1 image, utilizing the projector’s every pixel and eliminating “letterbox” black bars
by Stephen McNeil

Schneider Optics now enables projector owners to achieve incredible full-screen Cinemascope® images and eliminate “letterboxing,” the black bars that appear above and below the image when a 16:9 projector with a conventional lens projects a Cinemascope® movie. with the Cine-Digitar Anamorphic 1.33x Lens.

The Schneider Cine-Digitar Anamorphic 1.33x Lens enables 16:9 aspect ratio digital projectors to create full-screen 2.35:1 (Cinemascope®) images on superwide format screens. With all of the projector’s pixels in use, the black bars are eliminated and the resulting image fills the full height and width of the screen with images of superior brightness and maximum resolution. This enables users to project Cinemascope the way professionals do, unleashing the image power of every pixel in the projector to deliver the full impact of what the cinematographer intended to present.

The Schneider Cine-Digitar Anamorphic Lens can also be used to expand 4:3 images to a 16:9 aspect ratio. High-definition video that has been down-converted to standard-definition (with the squeeze option) can be projected at the original aspect ratio without distortion of the image’s geometry.

Schneider also offers two elegantly simple yet rugged motorized solutions for deploying a Cine-Digitar Anamorphic 1.33x Lens.

The Enright Company is proud to have joined Schneider this fall, just in time for our Northern CA road shows.

Cinemascope® is a registered trademark of 20th Century Fox Corporation.
